Directions (1-5): Each question below is followed by two statements I and II. You are to determine whether the data given in the statement is sufficient to answer the question. You should use the data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose between the possible answers.

Give answer—
(1) If the question can be answered by using statement I alone but can not be answered by statement II alone.
(2) If the question can be answered by using statement II alone but can not be answered by statement I alone.

(3) If both statements I and II together are required to answer the question.
(4) If the answer can be derived by using any of the two statements alone.
(5) If both the statements together are not sufficient to answer the question.

ANSWERS
Solutions (1-5)
1. 3;
Both statements are required.
From statement I:
Shyam makes 100/10 = 10 toys in one day.
From statement II:
Shyam and Ram make 150/6 toys in 1 day i.e. 25 toys  in 1 day.
i.e. Ram alone makes 25 – 10 = 15 toys per day.
For 150 toys he will take 150/10 = 15 days.

2. 5;
Both statements are not sufficient to find the ‘r’,
Principal (A) is also required.

3. 4;
Both statements alone is sufficient.
Area = (22/7 r)^2
From statement I:
r = 35
Area = 22/7 × 35 × 35 = 3850 sq. cm.

From statement II:
2 * 22/7 *r = 220
r =110 * 7/22 = 35 cm
Area = 22/7 × 35 × 35 = 3580 sq. cm.

4. 5; Both statements together are not sufficient. Total number of students is required to find the answer.

5. 3; Both statements are required.

Solutions (6-10)

6. (5) Total money spent on food in April = 35% of 40,000 = 14,ooo
7. (1) Money spent on education in March = 15,000
Money spent on Housing in April = 4000
Difference = 11000

8. (5) Req percentage = (22.5 - 18)/18 * 100 = 4.5/18 * 100 =  25%

9. (4) Req average = 34800/6 = 5.8 thousand

10 (3) Req ratio 3: 15 = 1:5
