US Open 2015 : Men's Singles
Roger Federer was on a roll: new tactics, renewed confidence and 28 straight sets won coming into the United States Open final. But once again, Novak Djokovic was the antidote. After stopping Federer in four sets in this year’s Wimbledon final, Djokovic did the same on Sunday, prevailing against an inspired opponent and a hostile crowd in Arthur Ashe Stadium to underscore his status as the world’s No. 1 player. Djokovic’s 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory gave him a second U.S. Open singles title and a 10th Grand Slam singles title, moving him into a tie with Bill Tilden for seventh place on the career list. Federer remains on top of that pecking order with 17, but Djokovic has prevented him from adding to his record total.
US Open 2015 : Women's Singles
The final weekend of the 2015 US Open promised to be a historic one, and so it was -- albeit not in the way almost everyone expected. Instead of Serena Williams becoming the fourth woman to complete a calendar-year Grand Slam, tennis had its first all-Italian Grand Slam final. As it turned out, the unlikely tournament winner promptly announced her retirement -- sort of, anyway. Flavia Pennetta, who overcame some early jitters to overwhelm her childhood friend Roberta Vinci 7-6 (4), 6-2 to win the US Open, waited until the end of the presentation ceremony to add, almost as an afterthought, "This is the way I want to say goodbye to tennis."
US Open 2015 : Men's Doubles
The Men's Doubles was clinched by the French pair : P. Herbert and N. Mahut. The french pair thrashed the pair of J.Murray and J.Peers in two direct sets by 6-, 6-4.
US Open 2015 : Women's Doubles
Women's doubles top seeds Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis defeated fourth seeded Casey Dellacqua and Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3, 6-3 here on Sunday to claim the US Open title.
The Indo-Swiss pair took only 69 minutes to conquer the Australian-Kazakh pair at the Arthur Ashe stadium. It was Sania and Martina's second women's doubles Grand Slam title together after winning the Wimbledon earlier this year and they played with supreme confidence to win the tournament without dropping a set. It was Sania's fifth success at the Majors (two women's doubles and three mixed doubles crowns).
US Open 2015 : Mixed Doubles
Veteran Indian tennis star Leander Paes scripted history by notching up the US Open mixed doubles title with Swiss partner Martina Hingis to become the format’s most successful male player in the Open era. The fourth-seeded Indo-Swiss pair edged past unseeded Americans Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sam Querrey 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 in a tricky final to win their third Major title together this season. The 42-year-old Paes has now won nine Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, surpassing compatriot and former partner Mahesh Bhupathi’s record of eight titles.
