Solutions with Explanations:
Solutions (1-5)
1.4;
A scored in Maths = 500 × 28/100 = 140
B scored in Maths = 500 × 25/100  = 125
Difference = 140 – 125 = 15

2. 3;
Ratio = 15/24 = 5 : 8

3. 3;
Average marks = (80+120+125+100)/4 = 106.25

4. 5;
A failed in Chemistry.
B failed in Hindi.

5. 4; 15/100 × 600 = 90

Solutions (6-10)

6. 4 - In 2004 = 5600 x 65% = Rs 3640
7. 1 - In 2001 = 40% x 4000 = Rs 1600
8. 4 - (2004) It is obviously clear from given data in bar - graph
9. 5 - (2005) It is obviously clear from given data in bar - graph
10. 3 – Total Avg amount spent on Food = 13660 / 5 = 2732
Total Avg amount spent on Educaion = 11340 / 5 = 2268
Difference = 2732 – 2268 = 464

Solutions (11-15)

11. 2; Percentage marks = 369/500 * 100 = 73.8
12. 3; Average marks = 408 × 50/100 * 1/5  = 40.8
13. 5;
14. 5; Total marks = 67 + 105 + 105 + 48 + 45 = 370
15. 5; Ratio = 12 : 7
