(1) 60%
(2) 75%
(3) 80%
(4) 100%
(5) None of these

ANSWERS
1. (4)

2. (1)

3. (2) ;
Girls passed from School A in 2007 = 350 X 3/7= 150
Boys passed from School C in 2006 = 200 X 3/5  = 120
Ratio = 150/120  = 5 : 4

4. (2) ; Total = 6
Boys = 640 * 5/8  = 400
% = 400/640 * 100 = 62.5%

5. (1) ; Girls passed from School B in 2010 = 450 * 4/9  = 200
Girls passed from School D in 2008 =  450 * 5/9 = 250
% =  (250-200)/200 * 100 = 50/200 * 100 = 25%

6. 4; P = 1190.91 ×  (100/105)(100/106)(100/107) = 1000
P = Rs 1000

7. 2; Let their speed be u kmph and v kmph.
u + v = 800/10  = 80
u + v = 80 ...(i)
u – v = 5 ...(ii)
From equations (i) and (ii),
u = 85/2  =  42.5, v = 37.5

8.  3; Speed = (5*25)/(10-5) = 125/5  = 25 kmph

9. 4; Speed of trains = 120/8  = 15 m/sec
 and 90/6  = 15 m/sec
 Relative speed = 15 + 15 = 30 m/sec
 Time =  (120+90)/30 = 210/30= 7 seconds

10.  4; Let the original price is Rs 100.
So he bought it at 10% discount ie Rs 90 and sells is at 35% profit on original rate ie Rs 135.
Actual profit is 135 - 90 = Rs 45
 % profit = 45/90 * 100  = 50%

11. . 4
12. . 4
13. . 3
14. . 3
15. . 4
