India’s 29th State – Telangana

On 2 June 2014 (Monday), Telangana became the 29th state of India, consisting of the parts carved out of the ten north western districts of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh. The city of Hyderabad will serve as the joint capital of Telangana and the residuary Andhra Pradesh for up to ten years.
Telangana is bordered by the states of Maharashtra to the north and north-west, Karnataka to the west, Chhattisgarh to the north-east and Andhra Pradesh to the south and east.Telangana has an area of 114,840 square kilometers. Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, and Karimnagarare the four largest cities in the state.Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on June 02, 2014 took over as the 1st Chief Minister of Telangana
